Okay, so you guys are constantly asking me how I keep my body healthy and in shape during my travels. Iv got two words for you, juice cleanse!
I know what you're thinking, juice cleanses are just an expensive trend. Well yes and no. Yes, they are expensive but no they aren't just some crazy trend that celebrities do just for fun. As rough as juice cleanses are, I honestly love them! It's no secret that my diet isn't always the best. I love food. I mean I literally catch myself planning whole trips around the food I want to try. Seriously I would eat 10 times a day if I could. So sometimes I think it's really important to reset my body and there is no better way to do that than with a juice cleanse. To give you guys a better idea of what to expect when jumping on this 3-day liquid diet, I decided to keep a journal. Here are my somewhat delusional thoughts of my latest juice cleanse from Project Juice.
Alright, it is day number one and I am ready to kick this juice cleanse's butt! I am going to detox like no one has ever detoxed before!! Bring on the green juices!
So I am only on juice number 3 and already my body is telling me to drive to the nearest restaurant and buy a cheeseburger. Clearly, my eating habits are questionable. All I have had today are three green juices that look and taste super healthy! These next three days are going to be fun.
Finally, nighttime rolls around. Even though I'm super pumped that I made it through the day without breaking, I can smell the chicken my sister is cooking in the kitchen and it's taking every ounce of my willpower right now not to go dig into it like a hangry caveman.
I am now on day number 2 of this liquid diet. I woke up drooling from a dream about that cheeseburger that I was craving from yesterday and instantly started thinking about waffles. After my breakfast juice, I made my way to my computer. I figured diving straight into work would keep me preoccupied. But between this pounding headache and my thoughts constantly racing to food I decided to watch some Netflix instead. I never thought I could hate cooking shows this much. My body is not amused.
It‘s now mid-afternoon and I just finished juice number 4 of day two and I'm starting to go a little crazy. I don't know what's harder, the lack of chewable meals or the lack of caffeine! I can literally smell coffee that's how bad I want some right now!!!
Finally, day number 2 is over! Juice number 6 is this awesome cashew milk with cinnamon that actually tastes kind of like a milkshake, or maybe that's just what my brain is telling my body to keep me from digging into that Milka chocolate I know I have in the kitchen. Time to draw a bath, light some candles, and enjoy my “desert” juice! Little positivity, not having any energy is forcing me to relax and I can't believe how much I am enjoying that!
Waking up the morning I was oddly happy! I think it might be knowing that I am only 6 juices away from being allowed to chew my meals again!
3 more juices to go and I fear that the green juices have turned me into some hulk-like creature. I am becoming more and more hangry every hour. For my dog's safety, I have barricaded myself in my room. I am now laying here clutching my next juice waiting for the clock to strike 4 so I can drink it.
It is official. This is my last juice. I am ready to pop the champagne and celebrate but I guess that would kind of defeat the purpose of this cleanse. I guess I'll settle for a good granola breakfast tomorrow morning. God that sounds good right now. As I chew on my cashew milk I think about all the meals I'm going to make in the next couple of days!
THE MORNING AFTER
Strawberries, blackberries, bananas, granola, and almond milk! I have never been so happy to chew my breakfast. With the juice fog finally clearing from my brain I feel absolutely amazing! Not only am I so proud of myself for making it without caving into cravings but I genuinely feel refreshed! Juice cleanses really do test your willpower and your patience but if you invest your time and money they are an awesome way to give your body a fresh start!
